Migge, I've got one of those knobs but prefer the round ball as opposed to the flat top. The grab handle will be going shortly ;-)

I had a little time spare, so I made an aluminium gaiter surround for the gearshift and handbrake from 4mm ali. The edges were radiused and then sanded to give a brushed finish to match the dash. That's the interior finished for now

Nige, how did you mount the handle? I know that this is the correct location, but somehow a weak point.
