IVA and 289 grill

Post by simonjrwinter »

Is this likely to satisfy the IVA requirements?
Thanks

The forward facing edges will also be a problem. I fitted some expanded aluminium mesh from car builder solutions. I cut some rectangular pieces of plastic that were drilled and tapped towards one end. Screws were fitted from the front and when the screws were tightened, the plastic tabs twisted round and clamped onto the aluminium bars of the Hawk grill. When I undid the screws the taps un clamped and twisted the other way to allow the mesh to be removed without a mark.

I had the same issue to tackle when mine went thru IVA in August. They rejected the mesh and asked for rubber strip to cover horizontal edges. The vertical edges were not required as they were set too far back for their measuring dome to touch. From which I can see in the picture you've done all that was required for me to pass my IVA.

Cheers

Belt and braces approach already taken. Rubber cover AND mesh!
