Static belts

Post by KevinW »

Set of Securon static belts - will not pass IVA! The rules changed mid-build for me.
These are unused, sat on shelf since purchase.

I'd prefer someone used these, rather than send to land fill.
Free if you want them - see pic, but a donation for P&P appreciated.
Brackets and spreader plates also available. Might suit older cobra or other classic car.

Surplus to requirements, following winter garage clear out.

Kevin,
I'd happily take them off your hands.
Let me know how much you need for P&P and we'll sort it.
Cheers

Why won't they pass IVA?
Cheers, Clive.

Clive,
Section 31 IVA manual covers. I had this very conversation with the IVA chappy.

" 8. With the seat belt fastened and the seat unoccupied, retractor
mechanisms must take up any excess webbing. (see Note 5)

Note 5: Some types of retracting belt might need help before they retract and harness belts due to their design will not retract however excess webbing
must be secured."

Cheers,
Jack

Yup - it's a bother!
I can only assume that the reference to static belts relate to harnesses and lap belts where allowed.
Who can tell :-)

As Jack says, you need retractor belts or harnesses for IVA.
3 point static belts will not suit.

Jack - I'll pm you - only just seen your message.
Let me know if you want spreader plates etc.
