Wanted - spinners and steering wheel for IVA

Post by Neil Summers »

Hi all,

We are putting our Hawk 289 Sebring through its IVA shortly and need the following IVA compliant parts:

1. Spinners x 4 (same thread as aluminium type supplied by Gerry Hawkridge)
2. Steering wheel and centre boss (same fitting as Hawk steering wheel from Gerry again)

Happy to buy or borrow - whichever is possible. Please let us know if you can help. Thanks!

That's a coincidence Neil,
I was just about to post something very similar.
I'm also about to apply for my IVA on my Hawk Sebring.
I'm also looking to buy or borrow a set of IVA spinners / nuts for Gerry's FIA wheels.
Already sorted for a steering wheel though.

Hi Stewbie,
I assume those nuts won't work with alloy FIA wheels?

My boss isn't a collapsible one but I don't think it's required as we have a double jointed steering linkage?

I'm not sure if the nuts will fit, PM John Housego to see how he resolved it.
As to the boss, technically you are right and if you follow the manual you are correct but it does seem to be the new thing with testers.

Hi Tim,
I used the MGB wheel off my donor car. I had to make an interface adaptor to fit to the Cobra boss, but it works a treat. The horn push, isn't connected and there's no symbol on it to cause the tester a concern. It also adds a soft and padded element to the centre of the wheel.
