They are happy to have a bunch of Kirkham lookalikes with many modifications and don't care.

He actually said that on camera, standing in front of a row of Kirkhams.

He did have the decency to pause before answering, and definitely had the hint of a smirk on his face as he spoke.

An old friend, Peter Baldwin, who raced Minis very successfully in the late 60s up to the present day, no longer competes at Goodwood as even the Minis are now all hot-rods with way more power than true FIA spec cars (as his are for other series). You may remember Gerry Marshall's Alvis, which wiped the floor with the opposition many Revivals ago - don't remember many Alvis saloons winning when I was a lad at Snetterton...
