SOLD: Rotary 2-speed wiper/wash switch

Post by Martin D-S »

Rotary 2-speed wiper and washer switch for sale
This switch was sold by MOSS/S-V-C for £72 up until a year ago as a reproduction alternative for the unobtainable Triumph TR unit. It was somewhat of a compromise as it was supplied without knob or fittings and needed modifying to be installed, but the effort is worth it as it operates the ‘Park’ facility on the 2-speed Lucas 14w wiper motor correctly without the need for additional relays, and has a discreet short push function to activate electric washers.
I sourced a period knob (£15!) and managed to install it as a temporary fix for 2 seasons until making a new dash (with toggle switches) so this switch has not had a lot of use.
Supplied with the repaired knob, hex mounting nut and original installation instructions. £30.
Free delivery to Silverstone Classic Sat/Sun.
Please send PM if interested or call 07972 282536.
Regards, Martin.

Interesting that you found a switch that didn’t need the washer cylinder element cut off and shaft shortened.
I thought I had used a TR6 switch but it wasn’t like that.

That’s because this isn’t OE Triumph. If you zoom in on the instructions you’ll see that it’s as I said - a repro offered for the unobtainable Triumph switch and it has an electrical contact for electric washers requiring only a short push, as opposed to the longer push required for a mechanical washer cylinder pump.
