Lovely looking Hawk up for Auction
Re: Lovely looking Hawk up for Auction
Wooden dashboard, well. High jackers at the rear
or too small tires?

Re: Lovely looking Hawk up for Auction
That was on ebay in July, was bid to around 24K odd and then got taken down and the bids removed.

That’ll be the Q reg car then…..
TR6 (V8) Hawk 289 FIA (V8) Doing my bit for global warming.
Re: Lovely looking Hawk up for Auction
Yes, a wooden dash is not to everyone’s taste. Alright in a Jag but not a Cobra.
The rear does need some serious lowering. I had to lower my bottom spring seats down to the lowest possible and then add collapsible helper springs to prevent the spring coming loose at full suspension drop. Easily sorted.
Shame it’s a Q plate that might put some people off bidding too high. That’s probably due to having a Ford engine and Jag rear axle prevented enough MGB parts.

Re: Lovely looking Hawk up for Auction
I won this Hawk 289 last weekend at Mathewsons, paid a little more than I wanted but it’s only money.
I collect it this Friday, a bit nervous about driving it back to Carlisle but hopefully it will be fine.
Initially the wood dash, seats, tyres and front grille will be getting changed which will hopefully transform the appearance.
Then I’ll evaluate whether it’s worth going through IVA again and getting it off a Q plate which may be possible but not the end of the world if it stays on a Q.
