Voting is open until Dec 31. The Superformance guys must have a voting "bot" that tracks each vote for my car. It then automatically votes for the other car. It is now down to a matter of 289 pride. Stay tuned till the end. I expect a flurry of voting at the last minute! All this for a T shirt!

Here is a link to some photos of the car at a few car shows this past August. As they say.....It never rains in Southern California.......

This is one of only 4 Hawk 289 cars in the US according to Gerry. Gerry was so helpful during this restoration.

Thanks for your votes! You can vote more than once if you use a different computer IP address.

Cheers

Glenn

Looks like you are 88 votes ahead Glen. Must have been a flurry of votes from the Register.
The car certainly looks pretty dam good. You must be proud of your achievements.

The Hawk is unofficially the winner

Post by 289Glenn »

We won! Thank you to all of the 289 members. Your votes helped. We won 196 votes to 84 votes for 2nd place. This is not official until the magazine checks all the votes, but it is pretty safe to say the Hawk is the magazine reader's favorite. I will proudly wear my winning T shirt now. Look for an article in Reincarnation magazine on the Hawk restoration coming this spring. They want to do an article on the car and it's history. I will be sure to mention the register and hope to get more US members. Happy New Year to all.

Cheers,

Glenn
BTW
My wife and I will be travelling to Ireland in June and then on to the IOM for the TT race. I would love to meet some members in a pub somewhere and swap stories!

Well done Glenn - make sure you send a selfie wearing the t-shirt to newsletter@the289register.com for inclusion in the next mag!

Looking at the membership map, it looks like the Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man are 289-free zones unfortunately. Are you flying direct to Dublin, or coming in to the UK, then on to Ireland?

If coming via the UK, and possibly travelling by ferry to R.o.I, via Holyhead-Dublin, I could see you as we live very near the port!
