Post by kdavies3 »

Hi guys,
here it is drove out the garage under it's power for the first time yesterday.
IVA preparations obviously ongoing.
Excuse the dust etc.

The paint is a very thin dust coat of black.
Amazing how many have said I should leave it that way. :D
For some reason no sound on the video.

Excellent, you must be pleased. There does seem to be quite a few people who like the Matt grey/ black colours offered by Audi and the like. Makes the car look more sinister a bit like the stealth fighter jets that don’t show up on radar.
Good luck with the IVA.

Hi Kev,

Good to see another Sebring version :-)

Why look the rear wheels so lost in the arches? What dimension have the rims and tires? Is it a shortened Jag rear end?

Anyway, a very special Sebring with FIA wheels.

Good luck with the IVA.

Cheers

Apparently this body was made for a car to use an MGB rear end which is a bit wider.
Gerry did say to me that I might want to reduce the rear arch a bit.
Yes, it has a shortened Jaguar outboard rear end.
Gerry's standard FIA rims.
I'm sure when the time comes Nigel will be able to assist me with that. :-)
If it still sits too high I may have to replace the springs for a shorter model.
Also everything is new and hasn't settled yet.

Kev,
I ended up with the spring platforms at their lowest setting and then adding helper springs to keep the springs in place when the suspension was fully dropped.
As you say it needs to settle. Full tank of fuel plus a spare wheel can help.
