Sidescreens covering, done!

Post by simonjrwinter »

Hallmark cars, usually know just for their Cobra replica sales, also have a trim department. I went to see them before Christmas to see if they could cover my Sidescreens
I’ve just got them back and I must say they have done an excellent job. Beautifully trimmed with the correct “flap” on the outside and the Perspex cut to just the right size so the opening sections move, but don’t rattle.
The attention to detail is excellent, for example, the front (fixed) section is secured to the frame by stainless domed head bolts inserted through slightly larger holes and just nipped up..
Not a cheap job, but very labour intensive and something you want done properly rather than cheaply......not associated in any way apart from being a satisfied customer.....highly recommended.

Nice work there - did you just leave them the parts, or the whole car? Romford's a bit of a trek for me.

Just the sidescreens, cut to size first of course.

It might be the magnification of the photo of the bolt detail but my material looks a finer weave than the photo and no loose threads.
I had problems cutting the front portion of perspex and it gained some small cracks possibly due to using the wrong saw blade. I replaced it with polycarbonate which I purchased locally. The front portion is not bolted but I doubt it will move as I couldn’t budge it.
