Re: AC Shelby Cobra and Kirkham
I believe that Kirkham have been supplying bodies to Shelby for some time.
Kirkham (like Jerry) can supply pretty much anything to fit an "original" car too.

Re: AC Shelby Cobra and Kirkham
Meanwhile, AC cars’ latest incarnation are offering “composite” (ie, Glassfibre) bodies on their cars....funny how things work out isn’t it!

Re: AC Shelby Cobra and Kirkham
How can a Kirkham be an AC?
If Kirkham supply bodies to Shelby, then I guess it is like Shelby using Ford engines or Goodyear tyres, it is a Shelby, but if you use a Kirkham body to build your own car or have someone else manufacture it then it isn't an AC Shelby.

Re: AC Shelby Cobra and Kirkham
Surely that is obviously the case. Shelby have never made every single part that goes into a Cobra, but if Shelby themselves assemble parts made by others into a Cobra then it is a Shelby Cobra, if anyone else assembles exactly the same parts to build a car it is not a Shelby or a Cobra.
That is how it has always been. Every car manufacturer buys in parts made by outside suppliers.
