BRA289 customized recreation
Re: BRA289 customized recreation
Thanks again for the compliments guys. Was a great weekend to meet new and old faces. Watched some racing and was lucky beside the heavy rain, mainly nights. Covered the passenger side of the car with a special made foil and taped it for the trip home. Great, hit not one single drop of rain. Delay at the tunnel train and the first time I got the engine not started. You guess where? Exactly, in the middle of a row of cars in the train when everybody wants to leaf it in Calais. The guy with the orange vest on the train said NO when I asked him to give me a push start. I asked for a second time very kindly and he answered ahain with a NO. I asked again if he can speak or understand German and he answered again NO. I bad mouthed the frog...... with many many German swearwords and pushed the car out of myself to the end of the train. I nearly collapsed but all cars behind me could go out. There was a young guy with the service car for cars like mine. He just wanted to pull me out of the train. He gave me a push start for 3 meters and the engine started. I gave him a tip and started home for the last 5 hours. Antwerpen cost me 2 hours, stop and go. Had to pull off jacket and underjacket, 28°C in traffic jam pooh. Engine stayed a 92°-95°C, great. After 12 hours I parked the Cobra in the garage. Incl. the SPA trip and some small ones before I traveled approx. 3000 km and I filled up Oil for the first time, just 500 ml.

What a hero!
Re: BRA289 customized recreation
Was with the car to the weight station. All the additional tubes and the aluminium (and the rivets ) made it not only stiff but a bit heavier too. Tank was nearly full , aka 75 ltr. full, maybe 65 ltr. in. Total was 1060 kg minus the fuel 65 ltr = 49 kg, so approx. 1010 kg inkl. the heavy windscreen which is now mounted.
Front to rear relation was 49% front, 51% rear. With dry fuel tank is will be 50/50.

Sounds good. Mine was 1065 kg with full tank of only 46 litres and Jag rear suspension. Circa 46%- 54% front to rear.
I also have a lot of sound insulation and carpet!
I keep looking at the rear to see where it could go on a diet!

I weighed mine when it was first finished (1989) and it was 1050kg with a half tank of fuel. The spare wheel dish on my car is a real steelworks job and very heavy. I don't know what the split is. David

The thing is, if Imgur starts charging or disappears, you have the same problem we just had with Photobucket.
