Hi,

I'm sure Talon went out of business a while ago. When you say Historic Reg, do you mean an Age Related plate which will be the age of the donor vehicle? There are three options, first an Age Related, second is a new number which relates to the year it was built and third is a "Q" plate which relates to a vehicle which the age of the vehicle is in doubt due to the parts used in the build. The first two will allow you to fit a reg number which makes the car appear older but a "Q" plate is not transferable so the car will always have that reg number.

Incidentally, can Gerry not build your car for you or advise you who could?
Cheers, Clive.

“Historic reg” will give the car a registration number from the date the donor vehicle was built as Clive said. This would enable you to put a “period” reg number on it.
However, the date of first registration on the V5 would always state the build date of the car and not the donor.

I have two dates on my V5C. "Date of First Registration" which is the date of the donor vehicle, and "Date of First Registration in The UK" which is the build date.

That sounds like your car wasn't registered with an Age Related registration but as a new build. One of the benefits of an older age related registration is the emission test for MOT.

Nope, age related.
I also have a GD registered in 2004 on an age related that states 2004, 2004 for the two dates!

I'm slightly confused as my understanding is that Age Related refers to the age of the donor vehicle
