LeMans Classic

Post by StewbieC »

I've been passed details of accommodation and tickets for Le Mans now available owing to a change in circumstances. All will be passed on at cost. Let me know if you want further info.
Cheers

Have those attending LMC2020 had a prompt today from Bill to pay the remainder of their balances. I'm nervous that there is no way the event can proceed but Peter Autos seem to be promoting the message that all is proceeding according to plan.

With the 24Hr being postponed until Sept and ferries being cancelled, what do people think. I can't even imagine half the race teams making it there.

Dave.

I think that a lot of these events are at risk including Silversone Classic. Up here the Bo'ness Revival Classic in September has been cancelled which is a real shame as it was practically washed out last year due to the heavy rains. Do you have travel insurance to cover any loss?
Cheers, Clive.

I'm also booked for the LM Classic and waiting for it to be cancelled / postponed.
Likewise Silverstone Classic, alhough Silverstone have now extended the club package BOGOF to the end of April.
Also fully expect Goodwood Revival to go too.

I guess Silverstone have extended the BOGOF because folk aren't buying tickets. :(

I'm doing Minis to Monte in September, and that's still planning to run. Also the Prologue Tour, which should have been next weekend (weekend after the Members' Meeting), has been moved to 2nd-3rd October, which I have entered in the Series 2A Landie - so I think events later in the year will probably be OK. June might be alright, but anything before that is iffy. I've had four events cancelled/postponed so far, just waiting on Silverstone and LMC.

I wouldn't be, Clive - they're all closed for the duration! My old practice has closed because they can't get the PPE, partly due to idiots buying them to wear in the street. The kind of mask you see the Chinese and Japanese tourists etc. wearing will do you more harm than good, a sure-fire way of ensuring you catch whatever's going around. 20mins max for a simple facemask, then they get moist and hold everything close to your nose.
