With new freedoms now on the horizon I thought I would try and arrange an outing for anyone interested in joining me on a trip to see Dave Brook’s Cobra workshop in Stoke.

I’m planning to go on Sunday 23rd of May (by then we should be in the next stage of release from lockdown where 6 people or 2 households can meet indoors) aiming to get to Dave’s at 11am in Stoke – address below FYI.  Dave has a small workshop (couple of garages in a residential area) and so not something where large numbers of Cobra’s can arrive together, so if you’re interested please let me know and once I have an idea of numbers I can work out logistics – whether we meet somewhere else and perhaps travel to Dave’s in a couple of normal cars, or if there’s lots of interest perhaps we could do the visit in 2 sittings –  say 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm, which might allow some members to join who live further afield.

To give you a bit more background, Dave builds aluminium bodies cobra’s – 427, 289 and Daytona.  Normally he would be building about 4 a year, but during lockdown has had 17 orders (obviously lots of people “working” from home) so he’s quite busy and booked up for a couple of years! But that said he’d be delighted to tell us about what he’s doing and show us his workshop and Cobras.  Dave builds true to original and machines hub and diff castings true to original.  Have a look on his web/FB site to discover more.
